The bust was opened by Soviet embassy in 1978 in Boulevard Saint-Germain, in the park which was named after Taras Shevchenko. Monument's author is sculptor M. Lysenko from Kyiv. There is a copy of this monument, which is situated in the yard of National arts and architecture academy in Kyiv.Â
