Sleep and Settling Program
Sleep and settling information is available at the 10 free Key Ages and Stages visits. Families with emerging or persistent sleep concerns may be offered an additional appointment with the MCH nurse in the centre, referral to in-home support or referral to an Early Parenting Centre. Free confidential 24/7 phone advice is also available from a qualified MCH nurse through the MCH Line on 13 22 29.

INFANT Program
The INFANT program supports healthy eating and active play from the start of life. Four 90 minute group sessions are offered when babies are around 3, 6, 9 and 12 months old. Sessions are delivered by MCH nurses in a local MCH centre, online or in community venues within the Merri-bek council area. Topics include hunger and fullness cues, introducing solids and allergy foods, active play ideas, preventing fussy eating and food examples for babies.

Breastfeeding Support Sessions
Breastfeeding support sessions are by appointment only. Free breastfeeding and formula support and information are available. Appointments are offered on Mondays between 9am and 3pm at Merlynston MCH Centre, Merlyn Street, Coburg North, Wednesdays between 9am and 3pm at Coburg MCH Centre, 1 Wardens Walk, Coburg, and Thursdays between 9am and 3pm at Balam Balam MCH Centre, 15 Phoenix St, Brunswick. To book, call 9240 1111 and select option 2.

Maternal and Child Health Service
A free voluntary service for families of children from birth to school age. Support includes regular visits with a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, breastfeeding support, new parent groups, child health and development, emotional and physical health support, immunisation, nutrition, family planning, and referrals to local support services and other health agencies. The service offers 10 free visits with a nurse to review your child's health, growth and development at key ages and stages.

Breastfeeding support sessions

Free breastfeeding and formula support and information for parents, provided by appointment only. Appointments are available on Mondays from 9am to 3pm at Merlynston MCH Centre, Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm at Coburg MCH Centre, and Thursdays from 9am to 3pm at Balam Balam MCH Centre. Some nurses have completed International Board Certified Lactation Consultant training. Book by calling 9240 1111 and selecting option 2.

Saturday Maternal and Child Health Sessions

Merri-Bek City Council Maternal and Child Health services offer Saturday sessions once a month. Dads are welcome to attend their baby's appointments and ask questions.
