A weekly programme of outpatient clinics and groups provides assessment, rehabilitation and support for older people with complex problems. Clinics and groups include medical, memory, leg ulcer, falls, TIA, syncope, Parkinson's and movement disorder, continence, and Strong & Steady balance rehabilitation sessions. Referrals come from GPs, hospital consultants after an inpatient stay, district nurses, therapists, Social Services and sometimes after a visit to A&E.

Parkinson's and movement disorders clinic

A clinic for patients with suspected or established Parkinson's disease, tremor or other involuntary movements. Patients may be assessed by doctors, therapists and a Parkinson's disease specialist practitioner. The clinic may provide clinical tests, medication reviews, personalised physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, education, exercise group signposting, and assessment for advanced therapies. Patients should normally allocate an entire morning, and lunch may be provided if necessary.
