BREAD-IGC virtual PhD course

Tue, 11 Aug

A virtual course primarily designed for PhD students and early career researchers, and also open to development practitioners, policymakers, and anyone with a strong interest in economics and evidence-based policy. Each lecture is held via Zoom webinar and generally consists of a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30-minute Q&A. Participants may attend individual classes or watch recordings later. The course is free, reading lists are voluntary, there are no exams or coursework, and certificates are awarded to participants who regularly attend, typically above 80% of lectures.

Announcing the SGB Evidence Fund

Webinar introducing a new fund from the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs and the International Growth Centre. The fund supports collaborations between researchers and practitioners to examine effective ways to support Small and Growing Businesses and the economic and social impact of SGB growth. The webinar covers the fund's scope, participation by ANDE members and other SGB support organisations, and plans for an East Africa event held in July 2019.

SGB Evidence Fund Webinar: Reducing Gender Discrimination in Finance

Webinar co-hosted by USAID, the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs, and the International Growth Centre. It presents key findings from two SGB-funded projects on gender discrimination in finance, including research on investors' evaluation systems affecting investments in female-founded startups and discrimination and access to capital in Ethiopia.
