Tiger Puppet Making and Play

Build a lightweight cardboard Bengal tiger puppet inspired by LIFE OF PI, then learn puppeteering techniques for bringing the animal to life. The activity is designed for middle school students and older, can be done before or after seeing the production, and is suitable for families, educators, and other audience members. Materials include cardboard, craft supplies, fasteners, and pipe cleaners. Participants can choose a simplified version focused on function or a fully decorated version. Duration is 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Identity Doorways

A companion activity for Fake It Until You Make It for high school students and older. Participants reflect on identity factors that are visible, hidden, or impossible to hide, then create and decorate an envelope door to represent those identities. The activity can be completed before or after seeing the production and requires a manila envelope, scissors, art supplies, and an identity questionnaire. Duration: 30 minutes.
