BABY STEPS: Beginners Line Dance Classes

A beginner-friendly queer line dancing course for girls, gays, theys and allies. Learn 24 dances across 12 classes, with less people and more time to learn the core repertoire. The course ranges from beginner to improver, with harder dances towards the end. It offers a space to learn, make mistakes, ask questions and have fun, incorporating country, pop, hip-hop and R'n'B. Classes take place in the Studio, apart from 15 June which is in the Goss Room. Free tickets are available for carers and access companions by contacting STRUT or Queer Line Dance Club via Instagram.

Dance in a Day, Lindy Hop

A beginner workshop in Lindy Hop, delivered in partnership with Swing Patrol. Learn the key principles and moves of Lindy Hop in a relaxed and friendly environment. The partnered dance requires booking as a lead or follow, with roles rotated during the sessions. No experience is necessary. The schedule includes an introduction to Six Beat Lindy Hop, an introduction to Eight Beat Lindy Hop and an introduction to Lindy Charleston.

A relaxed evening of social dancing for adults of all confidence levels and experience. The evening includes a 15-minute solo taster routine, Ballroom and Latin dances, line dances, sequence dances and alternative rhythms including Salsa. Dance Hosts are available to lead or follow, and no partner is needed. This is not a class. The event runs for three hours and has a card-only bar. Tickets are £14 or £12 concession in advance, and £16 on the door.

A social dance for dancers of all levels. Take the beginner taster class at the start of the night, then enjoy vintage DJs and a live band. The event is for over-18s only. Tickets are £17 or £14 concessionary in advance, and £21 on the door. Tickets are limited on the door.

Pink Jukebox

A Ballroom and Latin dance club for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their friends. Classes for all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced dancers, run from 14:00 to 16:30, followed by social dancing until 19:00. The social session includes standard Ballroom and Latin dances, alternative rhythms, and line and sequence dances. Tickets are £14 in advance or £12 for Pink Jukebox members, and £16 on the door or £14 for members. Members must show their membership cards. Events are for over-18s only.

Drop in to explore the UK Fetish Archive's collection of magazines, pamphlets, posters, ephemera, t-shirts and artefacts at your own pace. Visitors are also invited to donate material that could help tell the story of the kink and fetish community in the UK. Free to attend, but advance booking is required. The event is for people aged 18 and over.
