ACT householders can bring old large mesh netting more than 5mm to the ACT Wildlife office at Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Dairy Road, Fyshwick, and receive wildlife friendly replacement netting for free. The replacement netting is available as either a 4m x 4m sheet or a 4m x 10m sheet, with the swap approximately 1:1. Only white netting is provided. Vegetable garden netting can also be swapped. Businesses and residents living outside the ACT are not eligible. Swap times are 10:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday 29 August, Saturday 12 September, Saturday 26 September and Saturday 10 October 2026.

Hours and details

ACT Wildlife rescues, rehabilitates and releases injured, sick and orphaned native wildlife. We are Canberra’s only multi-species wildlife care group in the ACT. We’re a community organisation run by volunteers. As a nonprofit organisation, we rely on donations from the community to support our work.
