Proofreading BASIC includes the standard proofreading service, with additional improvement and optimisation of language and expression, a review of overall coherence and adjustments to the general style where necessary. The standard service covers orthography in UK or US English, grammar, punctuation, syntax, hyphenation and typography, including non-breaking spaces, hyphens and dashes. Spellings are standardised for technical terms, German and English phrases, quotation marks, footnotes, abbreviations, citation format and older and newer spelling forms.
