Tenants of council, social housing, and housing association properties in England can make housing disrepair claims at no cost. The service covers claims involving issues such as damp and mould, infestations, water infiltration and damage, defective heating systems, hazardous electrical wiring, internal degradation, gutters, drainage systems, piping, structural components, and damaged kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Eligibility and compensation are assessed case by case. Claims must generally concern local councils, local authorities, social housing, or housing associations, as claims against private landlords are not accepted at this time.
