Details.
Businesses that cannot pay Michigan sales tax debt in full may be able to request an installment agreement by completing Form 990. Applicants can propose monthly or biweekly payments, must be current on all required returns, and must continue filing returns and making new sales tax payments on time. Payment plans lasting 48 months or less generally do not require financial information, although the Department of Treasury may request financial records. Proposed payments must continue while the request is under review. Penalties and interest continue to accrue, and a missed or late payment may default the agreement and make the full balance immediately due.
