The FIRST UNITED Legal Advocacy Clinic provides legal assistance, advice, and representation to low-income and vulnerable people in the Downtown Eastside. Advocates mainly focus on tenancy and social assistance issues, including evictions, tenancy disputes, discriminatory evictions, reasonable accommodation, judicial reviews, government debt, consumer protection, Employment Insurance, Employment Standards Branch disputes, and income-related benefits. Drop-in intakes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, except holidays. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am.
