The introductory session is a full one-hour piano lesson, rather than simply a consultation. Tailored to the student's level, it covers areas such as coordination, listening, piano technique, and, where appropriate, reading notation. The lesson includes practical work at the piano, using material suited to the student's level and experience. The session offers an insight into the academy's teaching approach while enabling the academy to recommend the most suitable next steps. Continuing with regular lessons is by mutual agreement.
