When you downgrade or cancel a trip, you can receive some or all of your money back as an eVoucher. eVouchers can be used as payment toward future trip purchases on Amtrak.com, through the Amtrak app, at an Amtrak ticket office or by phone. One or more eVouchers with the same name can be used when the eVoucher name matches the full name of a traveler in the reservation. eVoucher redemption is not available at Amtrak kiosks. Depending on the original ticket fare rules, eVoucher funds may be refundable, non-refundable or a combination. eVouchers expire one year after issuance of the original ticket, are non-transferable and unused balances remain on the original eVoucher.
