From January 2026, all CCS-eligible families receive 72 subsidised hours per fortnight of early learning for each child, around 3 days per week, regardless of work, study or volunteering hours. Families earning over $533,280 are not eligible for CCS. CCS-eligible families can still receive up to 100 subsidised hours per fortnight if they meet activity requirements. Families caring for a First Nations child are eligible for 100 hours of subsidised early learning per fortnight. The initiative provides more flexibility, expected fee relief and better access to early education.
