Serve as a trustee for St Luke’s for Clergy Wellbeing, helping shape the charity’s strategic direction, safeguard its mission and respond to the wellbeing and mental health needs of clergy and their families. Responsibilities include ensuring strategy aligns with the charity’s mission and objectives, approving and monitoring operational strategies and policies, overseeing finances and risks, reviewing financial statements, supporting and challenging the Chief Executive, contributing to governance reviews, attending prepared Board meetings, ensuring beneficiaries’ voices shape decisions, and representing St Luke’s at events and fundraising activities. Applicants must have an active Christian faith and be a communicant Anglican or practising Christian with a good understanding of and sympathy for the Anglican Church. Candidates should understand the issues facing clergy, work effectively as a board member, think strategically, act responsibly and with integrity, and share an enthusiasm for clergy wellbeing. Professional financial experience, professional medical experience or lived experience in clergy wellbeing would be particularly welcome. This is a voluntary position with reasonable expenses reimbursed. Trustees are appointed for a 3-year term, with most expected to serve two terms. The commitment is around six to eight meetings a year, plus sub-committee or working group involvement and regular email communication.
