The Trade Analyst reports to the Trade Commissioner. Duties include planning and organising trade shows and promotional events in Australia and New Zealand, organising business trips for delegations to and from Italy, conducting market analysis and statistical work, managing promotional activity budgets and supplier negotiations, sourcing and assisting Italian companies entering the Australian and New Zealand markets, and supporting Australian and New Zealand companies interested in Italian products. The role requires a Bachelor or University Degree in Economics, Commerce or Marketing, Australian citizenship or valid permanent residency, a National Police Clearance, proficiency in written and spoken English, good knowledge of Italian, strong Microsoft and statistical database skills, and relevant experience. Communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive results-oriented approach, project management, multitasking and teamwork are required. Previous experience with Italian entities or companies in Australia and Industry Associations in Australia is preferred. The position is a 12 month maternity leave placement, subject to a positive three month probation period, with a possible additional 12 months. Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Availability to travel in Australia and overseas is required.
