Seattle Open Arts Place is looking for a Technical Director to lead day-to-day technical operations, support artists, rentals, co-productions, festivals, and internal programming, maintain and organize technical systems and equipment, keep the venue technically ready, support artists through tech and performances, create documentation and training materials, and help develop accessible technical theater systems and opportunities. The role requires demonstrated experience programming and operating lighting boards and lighting systems, plus experience with sound, projection, or streaming systems, or the ability and willingness to learn. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining equipment, inventory, and technical spaces, creating technical documentation, communicating with artists, renters, staff, and collaborators, and working in an organized, reliable, self-directed, collaborative manner with a high degree of autonomy. The position is hands-on with regular onsite responsibilities in Seattle, although some administrative work may be completed remotely.
