Join Fix-It Friend, a boutique handyman business serving residential and commercial projects in downtown Toronto. Collaborate on current projects and work towards handling projects independently. Applicants should have basic handy skills and experience using tools, strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for the skilled trades, a positive approach to people, work and learning, a clean-cut professional appearance, pride and integrity in their work, and dependable, reliable and punctual habits. The role requires a willingness to get hands dirty, a no job is too small attitude, the ability to work independently, and the ability to take instructions and ask clarifying questions. Your own transportation is a serious plus, and your own basic toolkit is preferred. Fix-It Friend offers a safe working environment, the opportunity to learn the full scope of the trade, and one-on-one training and mentorship. The role starts on a contract, job-by-job basis to assess mutual fit, with potential to grow into a full-time opportunity. Work may include hanging and mounting, door installation and repair, plumbing repairs, outdoor carpentry, miscellaneous repairs and upgrades, drywall repairs, painting, welding and metal fabrication, trim carpentry, custom woodworking, airless paint spraying, and custom design commissions.
