Teaching Artists support educational initiatives through curriculum development, in-school instruction, and edu-tainment programs for community partners. Depending on their interests, responsibilities may include developing and leading 30-60 minute recital programs about Black composers, creating culturally responsive interactive workshops for K-12 students and families, teaching Castle of our Skins curriculum or other lessons in schools and after-school programs, and leading instrumental sectional coachings. Applicants should have prior teaching experience, a passion for working with youth and diverse communities, strong organization, project management, and communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to intersectional racial equity and anti-racism with an interest in Black history and culture. Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate music program who have participated in the Intercollegiate BSU Fellowship are eligible to apply. The stipend varies by project, and applications are accepted on a continuous rolling basis.
