Barnes & Thornburg offers a 10-week summer associate program in 18 offices. Summer associates work with lawyers and professionals, collaborate directly with clients, develop legal skills, and explore different practice areas rather than being tied to a specific group. Assignments are selected through an online portal or provided directly by attorneys. The program includes two days of orientation and training, a multi-day Summer Associate Retreat in Indianapolis or Chicago, biweekly educational video conferences, access to online training programs, project-based feedback, midsummer and end-of-summer evaluations, partner and associate advisers, networking opportunities, and participation in pro bono projects.
