Walsworth's General Claims Department is seeking a senior level defense attorney with 7 or more years of relevant insurance defense experience, including auto accident, premises liability, and/or commercial litigation experience. The role manages matters through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, law and motion, depositions, expert discovery, settlement negotiations, and pretrial preparation. Responsibilities include drafting and revising legal documents, taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses and clients, communicating directly with clients, collaborating with firm leadership, and supervising and mentoring legal staff. Candidates must be admitted to the State Bar of California, reside in California, hold a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and be able to manage complex litigation, deadlines, and client expectations. Trial experience is a plus but not required. The position offers salaries from $190,000 to $225,000 depending on experience and agreed-upon minimum hours, with significant bonus opportunities.
