CEMLA's Directorate of Financial Stability seeks a highly motivated research assistant with strong analytical skills to support an international, multidisciplinary team working on economic research and international policy analysis focused on financial stability in Latin America and the Caribbean. Responsibilities include developing research projects and conducting quantitative econometric analyses, drafting and presenting research outcomes, constructing and managing granular datasets, identifying relevant research topics, and assisting with international meetings and working groups. Applicants need a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics or Finance, or a related quantitative field with a strong interest in economics. Candidates with only a Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant work experience may also apply. Applicants must communicate and write research and policy reports fluently in English and at least one of Spanish or Portuguese, and be proficient in analytical, statistical, and econometric software such as STATA, R, or Matlab. Knowledge of macroeconometric or microeconometric empirical methods is preferred.
