Eligible related professional backgrounds include education, teaching, psychology, sports, art, theatre, music, speech therapy, family care, child nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, sports therapy, childcare and curative education. A secondary school qualification, completed three-year pedagogical specialist training and six months of relevant professional practice are generally required. People whose first language is not German should generally demonstrate German at level C1. Recognition as a career changer is required, followed by the relevant basic and, where applicable, advanced course.
