Help build and extend the quantamental tools used by Fulcrum's discretionary long short thematic equity team, which manages more than $2bn in assets. Working alongside the portfolio manager and research analysts, you will turn data and fundamental insight into systematic tools that support portfolio construction and help capture alpha. Responsibilities include building and maintaining quantamental tools, turning fundamental research into systematic signals and repeatable workflows, automating manual tasks, supporting senior analysts with data collection and processing, and assisting equities teams with graphical presentation and wider communication. The ideal candidate has strong coding skills, ideally in Python, with working knowledge of pandas, numpy and SQL, is comfortable using Git and AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex, is quantitatively literate, communicates clearly with technical and investment colleagues, and is pragmatic, collaborative and passionate about equities and data. Desirable qualities include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an analytical subject, 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience, the ability to work independently and across functions, and exposure to Linux and time series databases such as ArcticDB.
