Oapl is seeking a self-motivated Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician to join its team in Slacks Creek, Queensland, in a permanent full-time position. The role is suitable for someone with previous experience or someone wanting to gain technician or workshop experience. Responsibilities include manufacturing, fabricating, repairing, modifying and maintaining prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices, using materials and fabrication techniques, troubleshooting workshop issues and following workplace safety requirements. Applicants should be willing to learn new techniques and fabrication methods, have practical skills and attention to detail, a positive attitude and work ethic, and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Previous prosthetic or orthotic technician experience is highly regarded but not essential. Sound knowledge of workshop machinery is required, while experience with plastic work, fibreglass or carbon lamination, buffing, grinding and sewing is advantageous.
