Join CatholicCare Victoria's Prison Chaplaincy team at the Loddon Prison Precinct in Middleton, with travel to other locations required. The role provides religious activities and support, spiritual and pastoral care, welfare assistance, liaison and advocacy for prisoners, prisoners' families and staff across Victorian prisons and correctional centres. Responsibilities include conducting religious and liturgical services, providing spiritual and emotional support, assisting prisoners in crisis and with release planning, liaising with families and support services, advocating on religious rights and welfare, supporting volunteers and clergy, maintaining records, participating in supervision and professional development, and complying with prison, safety and organisational requirements. Applicants require a qualification in theology, pastoral ministry or religious education covering Scripture, Christian Faith, Pastoral Theology and Sacramental Life, along with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multi faith and highly regulated prison environment, provide care regardless of religious affiliation, lead worship and ceremonies, use Microsoft Office, listen without judgement, and demonstrate resilience, cultural awareness and appropriate professional boundaries. A current driver's licence, Victorian Working with Children Check, Australia-wide Police Check and the right to work in Australia are required.
