The Swiss Center for Applied Human Toxicology, affiliated with the University of Basel, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in digital and computational toxicology to strengthen activities in the digital transformation of human and regulatory toxicology, with a view to next-generation risk assessment. Responsibilities include developing FAIR-compliant data management strategies, building and maintaining toxicological datasets and digital knowledge resources, applying computational methods to analyze and visualize complex datasets, evaluating AI and machine learning approaches, integrating Adverse Outcome Pathways, contributing to collaborative research projects and grant proposals, publishing findings, presenting at conferences, and supporting training and knowledge transfer. The position requires a Ph.D. in toxicology, computational toxicology, data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field, experience with toxicological or biological data analysis using Python and/or R, knowledge of database management, FAIR data principles and data governance, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent written and spoken English. Desired qualifications include experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, reproducible computational research, public toxicological databases, scientific publishing, and German and/or French. The position is for 80 to 100%, lasts 2 years with the possibility of extension, and offers an interdisciplinary research environment in Basel with access to research infrastructure and opportunities for scientific and professional development.
