The Discover Vacation Placement and Mentoring Programme is a one-week paid placement for aspiring solicitors from under-represented backgrounds. Placements are available in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, London or Manchester. Participants work alongside solicitors, contribute to projects, experience the work of a trainee solicitor, take part in a business development challenge, attend social activities and receive support from a professional mentor. Applicants must be interested in qualifying in England or Scotland, meet the stated student or graduate criteria, be eligible to work in the UK, not currently hold a training contract and identify with at least one under-represented group in law.
