Flipz Pet Care is seeking passionate individuals to provide daily dog walking and pet sitting services in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Responsibilities include cat sitting, dog walking and exercise, companionship and playtime, waste cleanup, transporting dogs to and from residences, supervising dogs in social settings, following safety and basic dog training protocols, assessing and responding to behavioral triggers, arriving on time, using provided safety equipment and uniform, navigating public transportation, and working holidays and in all weather conditions. The role may also include visits for exotic companion animals, handling dogs over 80 pounds, and contracted overnight stays in clients' homes. Required qualifications include a passion for animals, pet care industry experience, the ability to walk at least 5 miles per day and lift up to 50 pounds, reliable transportation, living within 45 minutes of Civic Center in Manhattan, a smartphone, a commitment of at least 6 months, weekday availability from 10am to 5pm, flexibility to increase hours or provide coverage, willingness to undergo a background check, basic knowledge of positive reinforcement and operant conditioning, and willingness to work in different areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Experience with puppies or dogs with behavioral issues, and a background in Psychology or Animal Behavior, are preferred.
