Engage in the Personalrat, the direct representative of interests for Lehramtsanwärter*innen in the regular Referendariat or Anpassungslehrgang in Berlin. The role involves advocating for high-quality training with transparent and consistent quality standards, better compatibility of care responsibilities and training, family-friendly seminar times, reduced workload, inclusive and discrimination-free training, participation in reforms to the Referendariat, guaranteed opportunities for observation and guided teaching, improved access to teaching materials and specialist literature, and more support with applications and entry into the Referendariat. The Personalrat is seeking new participants who are starting the Referendariat in August 2026 or are already new to it. New elections will take place in early December 2026.
