Provide high quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years in accordance with nursery policies and procedures. Responsibilities include caring for children, meeting their daily needs, promoting positive behaviour and communication, providing stimulating activities, maintaining a clean and safe environment, supporting equal opportunities, arranging educational outings, keeping records, working with parents, managing health and safety, responding to dietary and medical requirements, administering prescribed medication and first aid when necessary, attending meetings and supervision, working on a shift basis, supervising students and unqualified workers, cleaning and sterilising equipment, changing bedding, undertaking laundry, recording observations and assessments, planning educational care programmes, completing statutory and other training, and supporting the effectiveness of the staff team. The role is 36 hours per week on a shift basis, arranged in advance by rota, with 22 days' annual leave for each full year worked.
