Childcare facilities with a sports, music, movement, art or nature education focus may employ people with relevant training. Their working time is generally credited to the staffing ratio at a maximum of half the usual local weekly hours. They must complete at least five training days annually for the duration of employment, with training covering childcare law, the Berlin education programme, language, child development, early education, parental cooperation, observation and documentation, and work with children under three.
