Advanced Eye Physician is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its comprehensive eye care practice with locations in Chinatown, Manhattan and Flushing, Queens. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, obtaining medical histories, performing eye related testing, answering patient and pharmacy calls, obtaining prior authorizations, communicating with primary care and specialist offices, explaining medical procedures, preparing rooms, managing supplies, ordering contact lenses, handling inventory and paperwork, and maintaining HIPAA compliance. One to two years of medical assistant experience, Mandarin, Cantonese or another language, and EMR and medical terminology knowledge are preferred but not required. Candidates should have a pleasant attitude, patience, professional appearance, excellent communication and customer service skills, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
