Lead after school programs for students ages 5 to 14 in hands-on STEM crafts, materials engineering, Scratch coding, robotics, Minecraft, and Tinkercad. Responsibilities include creating project lessons and instructional videos, coordinating with school directors, parents, and staff, and maintaining professional communications and records. Programs generally run from 2:30 to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, and the position can renew each semester pending performance and school contracts. Applicants need experience teaching children, professional communication skills, the ability to travel throughout NYC, semester-long availability, English proficiency, and expertise or passion in a STEM or STEAM field. Fingerprinting, a background check, and training are generally required, with the background check paid for by the organization. Experience with programming tools, 3D design, robotics, 3D printing, game design, microcontrollers, crafting, or related technologies is preferred.
