Allen, Glaessner, Hazelwood & Werth LLP is seeking an associate attorney for its Public Entity practice group. The role involves representing public entities in state and federal court in lawsuits involving dangerous conditions of public property, inverse condemnation, contract disputes, code enforcement disputes, and constitutional violations. Responsibilities include developing litigation strategy, conducting discovery and depositions, communicating directly with clients, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and participating in trials. Candidates should have three to five years of litigation experience with progressive responsibility for pre-trial discovery and dispositive motions, excellent communication, legal writing, and research skills, an interest in public entity law and developing trial skills, a desire to contribute to firm growth, outstanding academic credentials from an ABA approved law school, and an active California State Bar license. Public entity litigation experience and knowledge of the California Government Tort Claims Act are helpful but not essential.
