Studio Barthelmes is seeking a lighting technician for freelance work or permanent employment. The role covers the technical implementation of lighting and media installations, construction and programming of lighting and media controls, luminaire installation and system integration, and the development of custom luminaires. Responsibilities include developing and calculating technical lighting solutions, preparing bills of materials and electrical and cabling plans, procuring project materials, coordinating with suppliers, creating prototypes and sample luminaires in the workshop, installing and commissioning lighting installations and controls, and programming lighting controls and interfaces. Candidates should have qualified knowledge of electrical engineering, technical understanding, practical skills, customer contact experience, strong communication skills, initiative, responsibility, motivation, structure, fluent German and English, willingness to travel, and an interest in design, architecture and lighting technology. Experience with DMX, DALI, media servers, programming languages, CAD programmes such as Rhino, ACAD and Vectorworks, and Dialux is desirable.
