Lead kayak tours in Austin, Texas, with responsibility for client safety, customer service, equipment maintenance and group management. Duties include loading and transporting kayaks and gear, meeting clients, providing paddle and safety instruction, leading groups on the water, offering naturalist interpretation and local knowledge, managing group dynamics, cleaning equipment and making repairs as needed. Guides work independently on a trip-by-trip basis and receive company training, authority and support. Applicants should have experience as a solo lead guide for paying adults on backcountry kayak tours, personal kayaking experience, a valid driver's license with a clean record, the ability to haul gear and tow a kayak trailer, and active First Aid and CPR certification.
