George Sexton Associates is seeking a creative, ambitious Junior Lighting Designer for its collaborative design team in the Washington, DC office. The role supports lighting design and production for museums, commercial and residential projects, including analyzing and selecting lighting sources, producing architectural drawings with AutoCAD or Revit, creating models, mock-ups and prototypes, and working with senior designers and project managers to provide lighting design services. Other duties may include client communication and travel for meetings and site visits to ensure installations comply with design documents. This is an in-office position with no remote or hybrid work arrangement. The position is intended for recent graduates and early-career professionals. Qualifications include a degree in architecture, lighting design or a related field, 0 to 4 years of relevant experience preferred, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, architectural drawing software, a basic understanding of lighting control systems, and strong problem solving, research and communication skills. Experience with Revit and AGI32 is strongly preferred. Compensation starts at $55,000 annually, with benefits including health, dental, vision and 401k, and opportunities for advancement.
