Join Gradient's team to find and back exceptional founders in communities the firm does not currently reach, including university research labs, frontier-lab alumni networks, and emerging founder communities. Responsibilities include building relationships with founders, researchers, and operators, conducting early diligence, developing an investment thesis and public presence, and representing Gradient at relevant events and campuses. Candidates must have a technical foundation and/or founder background, experience with angel investing, scouting, writing, event organizing, or community building, credibility with technical founders, a strong and growing network, and a willingness to meet founders in person. The role is based in San Francisco or requires relocation, with three days per week in the office and travel for sourcing.
