Lebendige Gebärden is seeking interpreters for German spoken language and German Sign Language in permanent employment, full-time or part-time, based in Berlin. Duties include simultaneous interpreting in both language directions, sight translation, and explaining written content or spoken-language messages. Requirements include a recognised interpreting degree or state certificate, very good written and spoken German, understanding of Deaf and hearing cultures and the discrimination faced by Deaf and other hearing-impaired people, a friendly and professional manner, Microsoft Office skills, willingness to support public relations, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
