Based at Gibson’s Funeral Services in Bishop Auckland, the Funeral Service Operative provides reassurance to families and helps care for their loved ones. Duties include bringing people into care, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services, pallbearing and helping everything run smoothly. The role requires a full driving licence and includes an out of hours and on call rota. The successful applicant will also be trained as a Funeral Director to support business needs. Previous funeral industry experience is desirable but not essential.
