Based at Gibson’s Funeral Services in Bishop Auckland, the Funeral Service Operative plays a vital role in supporting families and preparing loved ones for their final journey. Duties include bringing people into care, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services, pallbearing and helping everything go smoothly. A full driving licence is required, and the role includes the out of hours and on call rota. Within this role, the successful applicant will also be trained as a Funeral Director to support business needs. Previous funeral industry experience is desirable but not essential.
