EED places English governesses with children of all ages, including pre-teens and teenagers preparing for international schools or university entrance. Governesses provide full language immersion through meals, play, activities and bedtime, tailor educational programmes to each child, and may support homework, projects and extracurricular activities. Candidates typically hold a degree in Education, English or a related subject, plus a formal teaching qualification such as a PGCE or equivalent. Many have experience in prep schools or international schools and in private family placements. Bilingual or multilingual governesses may also teach French or another language. All candidates are background and reference checked before presentation.
