Oversee academic support for students in the elementary and middle school after-school programs, linking school-day and after-school learning while working with school personnel, parents and program staff. Responsibilities include writing and implementing aligned curricula and lesson plans, training after-school staff, leading literacy and educational instruction groups, communicating with teachers, providing homework help, giving positive feedback, assessing student progress and maintaining communication with the Program Director, teachers and families. Qualifications include a NYS teaching license, a BA or master's degree in related education, two years of experience with school-age children in an educational setting, curriculum-writing and assessment experience, administrative and supervisory experience, strong communication and organizational skills, experience with varied ethnic and cultural populations, age 18 or older, a copy of a college diploma, and government identification. English or a second language is preferred.
