George Jackson Academy seeks a dedicated, student-centered Director of High School Placement to oversee and execute all elements of the high school admissions process for a class of 30 or more students beginning in the second semester of 7th grade. Responsibilities include creating school lists, supporting applications and financial aid forms, preparing students for interviews and standardized tests, coordinating school visits, managing recommendations and digital records, communicating with families, building relationships with partner high schools, refining placement processes, and managing a small program budget. The role also includes teaching the High School Placement class, occasional substitute teaching, and attending occasional evening or weekend school functions. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, experience working with middle school boys, strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, and a commitment to GJA's mission and student population. Experience in school admissions or high school placement, teaching, familiarity with New York City high school options, and experience supporting financial aid or scholarship processes are preferred. This is an in-person, full-time, 12-month position starting July 1, 2026. Salary is $80,000 to $100,000 with medical, dental, vision, flex-spending, and commuter benefits.
