FGS Longview is seeking a Director, Government Relations for its Calgary office to lead the day-to-day execution of advocacy strategies supporting clients' policy and reputational objectives. Responsibilities include managing account projects, engaging with clients and advisors, developing communications plans and policy analysis, building relationships with policymakers and regulators, monitoring emerging issues, mentoring colleagues, and supporting new business and client relationships. Candidates should have strong writing, analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills, sound judgment, confidence in high-stakes situations, and the ability to manage and mentor early career colleagues. The role requires 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in communications, government, law, journalism or a related field, with government or government relations advisory experience strongly preferred and energy sector experience an asset. A bachelor's degree with an outstanding academic record is required, while an advanced degree is a plus.
