The Courtroom Technology Specialist performs complex systems work involving the design, planning, setup, programming, and maintenance of courtroom technology, video conferencing equipment, electronic presentation systems, audio streaming, sound system equipment, and end-user devices. Responsibilities include courtroom audiovisual support, troubleshooting hardware and software in a Microsoft Windows environment, programming Crestron control systems, coordinating video and teleconferences, training court staff, managing technology inventory, supporting procurement, developing procedures, and participating in professional development. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, specialized audiovisual or information technology support experience or qualifying education, strong customer service and communication skills, proficiency with Windows desktops and Microsoft 365, the ability to install and troubleshoot hardware and peripherals, knowledge of IT security practices, and the ability to lift 50 or more pounds of IT equipment. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with AV systems, Crestron or Extron programming, a Certified Technology Specialist certification, SharePoint, VOIP systems, VPN remote access, multiple web browsers, and federal judiciary IT operations.
