The Courtroom Manager, also known as a Courtroom Deputy Clerk, manages cases and provides courtroom services to support timely and efficient proceedings. Duties include scheduling hearings, trials, and conferences; coordinating courtroom participants; attending court sessions; preparing courtrooms; recording proceedings; managing witnesses and exhibits; preparing and docketing minute entries, orders, pleadings, and judgments; responding to inquiries; supporting jury selection; maintaining jury records; serving as a liaison between the Clerk's Office, the bar, the public, and the judge; and performing related duties or special projects. The role requires accuracy, diplomacy, confidentiality, strong administrative, organizational, analytical, writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A minimum of one year of specialized experience is required at the CL-26 level, or two years at the CL-27 level. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, federal court calendaring, docketing, and courtroom management experience, knowledge of federal rules and procedures, CM/ECF experience, paralegal experience, or a J.D.
