U Matter offers placements for English, Arabic, Ukrainian and Albanian speaking therapists at its head office in Greenwich, London. The role provides emotional and therapeutic support to service users, with therapy delivered in clients' native languages. Duties include potential therapeutic group work, contributing to administrator and manager reports and case discussions, adhering to confidentiality and information sharing policies, and completing safeguarding and protection training. Weekly supervision, mandatory training and additional topic-specific training are provided. Applicants must be fully qualified or studying towards a relevant counselling, counselling psychology, psychotherapy or psychology qualification. Requirements include a relevant degree, MSc, MA or Level 4 or above counselling diploma, training with a therapeutic and personal development component, understanding of therapeutic relationships, a minimum commitment of one academic year, self-awareness, emotional robustness and commitment to equality and anti-discriminatory practice. Placements are unpaid, although travel costs may be covered. Working days are normally Monday to Friday and hours are normally 10:00am to 5:00pm, subject to placement requirements.
