Motion Paradox is seeking a London-based legal and business affairs professional to provide strategic business and legal consulting services to start-ups, scale-ups and growing SMEs. The role requires qualification in the law of England and Wales, or another common law jurisdiction, with typically 3 to 7 years' post-qualification experience, although applicants at other levels may apply. Candidates should have experience in a high-growth in-house function or a small to medium-sized boutique law firm, preferably in the technology sector, and be eligible to work in the UK. Responsibilities and required experience include advising on employment law and HR matters, drafting and negotiating employment and consultancy agreements, settlement agreements, handbooks and HR policies, advising on complex employment issues, drafting and reviewing commercial and technology agreements, identifying and mitigating legal and business risks, managing data protection compliance, and supporting due diligence and investment transactions. The role also involves building trusted client relationships, delivering pragmatic commercial advice, managing competing priorities, developing training materials, contributing to business development and maintaining professional development. The position reports to the Director, Legal and Business Affairs, with opportunities to supervise and work closely with junior team members.
